Po.et (POE) is an ERC-20 token developed on the Ethereum blockchain. The total supply of Po.et is 3,141,592,653 tokens. Po.et works with the Proof of Existence (PoE) protocol and extends the hashing and timestamping algorithm by incorporating additional metadata and discoverability in the existing Proof of Existence protocol. Po.et solves the problem of copying and illegaly distributing digital works. Po.et records data of ownership and metadata on the distributed ledger with a data layer on the top to protect digital media assets. The publisher or owner can generate an infinite number of titles, timestamped and registered with the Po.et network. Using smart contracts, Po.et allows the user to generate automate the licensing process.

Po.et is lead by Jarrod Dicker who is the current CEO and former vice president of innovation and commercial strategy at The Washington Post. Eric Elliott is VP of Engineering at Po.et. He is the author of "programming JavaScript Application". The team consists of David Turner as the Head of the product.

The purpose of Po.et is to address three core issues of digital media i.e. ownership, utilization, and history. "Ownership" defines the owner of the digital asset. The record is maintained on a public ledger and thus cannot be tempered. "Utilization" requires the POE token which serves as the economic layer for Po.et platform. "History" explains the origin of the asset, its market value, and record of economics related to the asset. The use cases include publishers, content creators, and the services offered by both.
