On Wednesday the 4th of December 2019, Te-Food (TFD) revealed BlockSeal, their latest product tackling certificate authentication and document verification. BlockSeal takes Te-Food from the food traceability sector outside into countless other industries that are susceptible to counterfeit certification and authenticity problems, especially in areas involving university degrees, accreditations, industry standard certifications and much more.
Te-Food has had an incredible year with the continued development and growth of the Te-Food FoodChain, their partnerships with industry giants such as Auchain, Migros, Vinamilk and many more as well as cooperation efforts with local Governments and Universities to battle Epidemics such as African Swine Fever and educate those working in the food industry. The Teams latest announcement revealing their latest product, BlockSeal, is their first big step outside of the food industry and into various other industries where anti-counterfeiting measures are desperately needed. Te-Food recently partnered up with Jura to “provide a complete product package of secure, copy protected identification technology, and end-to-end traceability of products”, according to the official announcement back in September, which was no doubt one of the first steps towards solidifying the idea around BlockSeal and moving into the development stage.
According to Te-Food and directly quoting their official announcement, “BlockSeal provides an easy way for certificate issuers to upload certificate data, get back a QR code and a blockchain hash, and generate an electronic version of the certificate with the blockchain based data. The QR code can be printed on the paper based certificate to serve as a reference to the landing page for validation reasons.”
Through security products provided by their partner Jura, Te-Food will enable customers to produce QR codes which are directly linked to the relevant data stored on the blockchain. Te-Food cites educational organizations, certification organizations and even test labs as some of the candidates that could benefit from this technology and with them citing the Pakistan based scandal, where a company sold $140 million value of fake university degrees, it does make sense that they’re deciding to branch out and tackle this head-on.
The Team even included an example of what a certificate authenticated with BlockSeal will look like. See below.
Te-Food have had an extremely busy 2019 and they’ve ended the year on a strong note with the reveal of BlockSeal. We’re looking forward to seeing what the Team can achieve in 2020 and learning more about where Te-Food plans to implement BlockSeal first.
